How to Use Text Function on StreamDock

The Text function allows your StreamDock to quickly enter preset text with one key press. You can use it to send common phrases, email replies, usernames, links, commands, hashtags, or any repeated text you use often.

This feature is helpful for streaming, chatting, customer support, office work, and daily desktop productivity. If you use StreamDock as a stream deck alternative or macro keyboard, the Text function can help reduce repetitive typing and make your workflow faster.

What Is Text Function?

Text is a toolbox function in StreamDock software. After you add it to a key, StreamDock can automatically input the text you have saved.

You can use it for:

  • Frequently used messages
  • Email templates
  • Social media captions
  • Live chat replies
  • Product links
  • Discount codes
  • Commands
  • Hashtags

Step 1: Add Text Function to a Key

Open the StreamDock software and select the key you want to edit.

Then go to:

Toolbox > Text

Drag the Text function to your selected key.

After adding it, you can customize the title and enter the text content you want StreamDock to send.

Step 2: Enter Your Text

In the Text field, type or paste the content you want to use.

For example, you can add:

  • A welcome message
  • A support reply
  • A website link
  • A livestream chat message
  • A product introduction
  • A keyboard shortcut command

The text box supports up to 5000 characters, so you can save both short phrases and longer templates.

Step 3: Send Text with One Press

After saving the text, click the assigned StreamDock key.

StreamDock will automatically enter the preset text into the current input field.

Before pressing the key, make sure your cursor is placed in the correct text box, chat window, document, browser input area, or software field.

Step 4: Use Enter After Sending Message

If you want StreamDock to send the message automatically after entering the text, enable:

Press The “Enter” Key After Sending The Message

This is useful for chat apps, live streaming platforms, Discord, customer support tools, and other messaging workflows.

If you only want to input the text without sending it, leave this option unchecked.

Step 5: Use Copy-and-Paste Input

You can enable Use copy-and-paste input to let StreamDock paste the text through the clipboard.

This can improve compatibility in some apps or input fields.

If normal text input does not work correctly in a specific software, try enabling this option.

Final Thoughts

The Text function helps you enter repeated content quickly and accurately. You can save common messages, links, replies, commands, or templates, and send them with one key press.

Whether you use StreamDock as a stream deck alternative, a macro keyboard, or a streaming control deck, the Text function can make your daily workflow smoother and more efficient.
