Beginner’s Guide: Introduction to the StreamDock Software Interface

The StreamDock software provides all the tools needed to configure your device, manage scenes, install plugins, and customize keys or knobs.

This guide introduces each area of the interface and explains its main purpose. The available controls may vary slightly depending on the connected StreamDock model.

1. Device Connection Status

The title bar at the top of the window displays the current device connection status.

For example:

  • Device is Connected: The software has recognized the device.
  • Device Not Detected: Check the USB connection and reconnect the device.

Confirm that the device is connected before configuring its functions.

2. Main Toolbar

The upper-left toolbar provides quick access to several commonly used areas.

Store

The Store includes:

  • Plugins
  • Icons
  • Scenes
  • Tutorials
  • Product news and other content

Select a resource and follow the on-screen instructions to install or use it.

Beginner Guide

The guide button opens an interactive introduction to the software. It explains how to drag functions onto keys and complete basic configuration.

Tutorial

The question mark button opens the Store tutorial page, where you can find more instructions about StreamDock functions.

Settings

The gear button opens the software and device settings.

3. Connected Device Bar

The device bar at the top displays the currently connected StreamDock model.

If multiple devices are connected, you can select a device in this area to quickly switch its configuration interface.

The dropdown button can also be used to view and select available devices.

4. Account and Status Area

The upper-right area contains account, download, and online resource controls.

Download Status

The notification icon displays download progress and related messages when resources are being installed.

MiraBox Space

Click the Space icon to open MiraBox Space, where you can explore additional plugins, icons, scenes, animated backgrounds, and other resources from the MiraBox Ecosystem.

Account

Click the profile icon to log in or manage your account information.

5. Scene List and Management Area

The upper-left panel displays all scenes created for the current device.

A scene is a complete group of pages, keys, icons, and assigned actions. You can create different scenes for applications or workflows such as:

  • OBS
  • Photoshop
  • Music control
  • Office work
  • AI tools
  • Gaming

Click a scene name to open it.

The controls at the bottom of the panel allow you to add, delete, and manage scenes. You can also open the scene settings to rename, duplicate, import, export, reorder, or configure automatic application switching.

6. Device Selection and Preview Area

The lower-left panel displays the currently selected device and a preview of its physical layout.

Use the device dropdown to switch between connected devices.

The preview helps you confirm which model and control layout you are currently editing. Device-specific lighting controls may also be displayed in this area.

7. Device Configuration Area

The center of the software displays a visual representation of the selected StreamDock device.

Depending on the model, this area may include:

  • LCD keys
  • Touch bar
  • Knobs
  • Page buttons
  • Button Mode and Touchbar Mode
  • Additional device controls

Select a key, touch area, or knob to view and edit its assigned function.

You can also switch between pages or add a new page using the page controls below the device preview.

8. Function and Plugin Library

The right sidebar contains built-in functions and installed plugins.

Common categories include:

  • Stream Dock
  • Toolbox
  • Audio Player
  • Operation Flow
  • OBS Studio
  • Useful Notes
  • Calendar
  • DateTime
  • Multimedia and application plugins

To assign a function, drag it from the right sidebar onto a key, touch area, or knob in the center.

9. Key and Knob Tabs

Use the Key and Knob tabs above the function library to view compatible actions.

  • Key: Displays functions that can be assigned to keys or supported touch controls.
  • Knob: Displays functions designed for knob press and rotation actions.

Some functions are available only for specific control types.

10. Function Search and Display Controls

Use the search field above the function library to find a function or plugin quickly.

Enter a function, application, or plugin name to filter the list.

The menu icon beside the search field can be used to show or hide functions, helping you keep the sidebar organized.

11. Property and Function Settings Area

The panel below the device preview displays the settings for the currently selected key, touch area, or knob.

Depending on the assigned function, this area may include:

  • Title
  • Icon
  • Application or file path
  • Hotkey
  • Event type
  • Action settings
  • Plugin options
  • Press and rotation controls

If no control is selected, this area prompts you to select the key whose action you want to configure.

12. Software Settings

Open Settings > General to manage software-related options, including:

  • Checking for software updates
  • Changing the software language
  • Starting the software when the computer powers on
  • Starting the software minimized
  • Opening the User Guide
  • Resetting the current device
  • Resetting all devices
  • Opening the application folder
  • Enabling automatic device detection prompts

13. Device Settings

Open Settings > Device to view and adjust settings for the selected device.

Available options depend on the device model and may include:

  • Serial number
  • Firmware version and update
  • Automatic screen-off time
  • Screen rotation
  • Screen brightness
  • Light brightness
  • Lighting control
  • Boot logo
  • Touch slide and touch click
  • Vibration

14. Scene Settings

Open Settings > Scenes to manage scenes in more detail.

This area may include:

  • Adding or deleting scenes
  • Renaming and duplicating scenes
  • Importing and exporting scenes
  • Reordering scenes
  • Setting a default scene
  • Linking scenes to applications
  • Adjusting application detection order

When a linked application becomes active, StreamDock can automatically switch to its assigned scene.

15. Style Settings

Open Settings > Style to apply consistent title formatting across the device.

You can configure:

  • Whether titles are displayed
  • Title position
  • Font
  • Font size
  • Bold, italic, and underline styles
  • Text color

Click Apply to use the selected style or Restore to return to the previous/default settings.

16. Community and Technical Support

The lower-right corner provides quick access to MiraBox community and support channels.

These links can help you:

  • Join the MiraBox community
  • Ask setup questions
  • Report software or plugin issues
  • Contact technical support
  • Share feedback with other users

Final Thoughts

The StreamDock interface is divided into clear areas for device management, scene organization, function assignment, plugin installation, and detailed configuration.

For a basic setup, select your device and scene, drag a function from the right sidebar onto a control, and configure it in the property panel below. You can then use Settings to adjust the software, device, scenes, and global display style.
