How to Use Export Scene and Import Scene on StreamDock

How to Use Export Scene and Import Scene on StreamDock

The Scene function in StreamDock helps you organize different button layouts, shortcuts, icons, and workflows. You can create different scenes for streaming, work, gaming, editing, or daily desktop productivity.

When you need to share your scene with others, or use a scene shared by a friend, the Export Scene and Import Scene functions can be very helpful.

This guide explains how to export and import StreamDock scenes, and what you need to know before using scene files.

What Is a Scene?

A scene is a complete layout in StreamDock. It can include your keys, icons, actions, pages, and workflow settings.

You can create different scenes for different needs, such as:

  • Streaming control
  • Video editing
  • Music control
  • Office work
  • Gaming shortcuts
  • Creator desk setup
  • Daily productivity workflow

When Should You Export or Import a Scene?

You can use Export Scene and Import Scene when you want to:

  • Back up your current scene
  • Share your scene with another StreamDock user
  • Use a scene shared by a friend
  • Move a scene to another computer
  • Save different workflow layouts
  • Restore a previous setup

This is especially useful when you have already built a complete StreamDock layout and do not want to create it again from the beginning.

How to Export a Scene

Open the StreamDock software.

Then go to:

Setting > Scenes

Select the scene you want to export from the scene list.

Click the Export Scene icon at the bottom of the scene panel.

After exporting, StreamDock will generate a scene file. You can save this file, back it up, or share it with another user who has the same StreamDock device model.

How to Import a Scene

Open the StreamDock software.

Go to:

Setting > Scenes

Click the Import Scene icon at the bottom of the scene panel.

Select the scene file you want to import.

After selecting the file, the scene will be loaded automatically into the scene list on the left side.

For a faster import, you can also double-click the scene file directly. StreamDock will automatically import it.

Important Note About Device Models

Please note that scene files are generated and imported based on the specific device model.

You can import and export scenes between the same model. For example, scenes can be shared between two N4 Pro devices.

However, you cannot directly import an N4 Pro scene to an N4 device, even if the devices look very similar.

If the imported scene does not match your current device model, you may complete the import process but not see the scene in the current device list. This is normal.

The scene is imported to the matching device model, not the device you are currently viewing.

For example:

  • If you import an N4 Pro scene while using an N4, you may not see any change.
  • When you connect an N4 Pro later, the imported scene will appear and load correctly.

Final Thoughts

Export Scene and Import Scene make it easier to share, back up, and reuse StreamDock layouts. You can export your current scene, send it to another user, or import a scene file shared by others.

Just remember that scene files only work with the matching StreamDock device model. If you cannot see an imported scene, check whether the scene file belongs to your current device model.
