How to Switch Numeric Keycap Skins on MiraBox N1

The Numeric Keycap Skin function is designed for the onboard modes of MiraBox N1. It allows you to change different keycap styles for Numpad Mode and Calculator Mode.

With keycap skins, you can make your N1 look more personal, easier to recognize, and better matched with your desk setup.

What Is Numeric Keycap Skin?

Numeric keycap skins are visual styles for the N1 onboard key layout.

They are mainly used for:

  • Numpad Mode
  • Calculator Mode

These skins change the appearance of the keycaps shown on the N1 device. They do not change the actual key functions.

How to Switch Keycap Skins

To switch keycap skins, first make sure your N1 is in Calculator Mode or Numpad Mode.

Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the StreamDock software.
  2. Select your N1 device.
  3. Switch the N1 to Calculator Mode or Numpad Mode.
  4. Find the skin style dropdown under the device preview.
  5. Select one of the preset styles.

The software includes 5 preset skin styles. You can use the dropdown menu to switch between them quickly.

How to Download More Keycap Skins

If you want more styles, you can download them from MiraBox Space.

  1. Open MiraBox Space.
  2. Go to Stream Dock.
  3. Open the Numeric Keycap category.
  4. Choose the keycap skin you want.
  5. Click Get.
  6. Follow the prompt in StreamDock to install or replace a skin style.

MiraBox Space provides more visual resources as part of the MiraBox Ecosystem, including keycap skins, plugins, icons, scenes, and other StreamDock resources.


How Skin Replacement Works

The software can store up to 5 skin styles at the same time.

When the current number of skins reaches the limit, downloading a new skin requires replacing one of the existing 5 styles.

When prompted, choose the skin style you want to replace, then confirm the replacement.

During replacement, please wait until the progress is complete. After the process finishes, the software will show a replacement success message.

How to Reload a Skin

If a key icon appears incorrectly or does not sync properly, click the Reload button on the right side of the skin selector.

This will upload the selected skin to the device again.

Use Reload when:

  • A key icon looks abnormal
  • The software preview and device display are inconsistent
  • You changed computers and the displayed skin does not match the device
  • A skin was not uploaded correctly

Important Notes

Please note the following before using keycap skins:

  • Numeric Keycap skins are mainly used for N1 onboard modes.
  • You need to switch to Calculator Mode or Numpad Mode before changing skins.
  • The software can store up to 5 skin styles.
  • Each new download may require replacing one of the existing 5 styles.
  • Calculator Mode and Numpad Mode share the same skin style.
  • They cannot be set separately.
  • If an icon looks abnormal, use the Reload button to upload the skin again.
  • Because skins are stored in the device memory, the skin shown in the software may not match the device after connecting the N1 to another computer. This is normal.
  • You can click Reload to upload the skin again and synchronize the display.
  • Custom skin upload is not currently available directly inside the software.

About Custom Keycap Skins

At the moment, the software does not support direct custom skin upload.

If you want to use a keycap skin you created, you need to upload the resource package to MiraBox Space first. After the resource is available in Space, it can be transferred into the StreamDock software and used on the device.

The Numeric Keycap Skin function lets you quickly change the visual style of MiraBox N1 in Calculator Mode and Numpad Mode.

You can use the 5 preset styles in the software, download more from MiraBox Space, replace existing styles when the limit is reached, and use Reload to synchronize the skin with the device.
